Tech For Good Asia is an initiative and brainchild by several Asian leaders and influencers in the field of information technology during the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic, as we all witness the increasingly important role of new technology for our society – at a time when people need to stay closer more than ever – digitally – despite the unprecedented challenges of social distancing offline around the world.
Tech For Good Asia’s mission is to connect people for positive changes and to empower the IT industry for more fair, open, safe, and trusted implementation and usage of new technology. We want to ensure that technology is a force for good for our society as it should be. Tech For Good Asia is registered in Hong Kong in the form of Tech For Good Asia Limited, with our partners and country chapters around the NEA region.
We are grateful for the support from our founding partners in the region who care about the future of technology and how to keep technology as a force for good as much as we do at Tech For Good Asia.
At present, our director is Charles Mok, an IT veteran and former legislator based in Hong Kong. Tech For Good Asia is supported by its strong and reputable advisory board including policymakers, industry leaders, researchers and scholars. You can read more about their background here.
